The problem with music.google.com

It is pretty obvious, Google doesn't sell music!  With Amazon's (and a potential service from Apple) both companies already sell digital music.  Google is hoping that you buy music from someone else and then use an upload/sync tool to copy to their service?  I don't see this happening for too many people.

Amazon's MP3 store and Cloud player/storage is slick and easy.  Google needs to have a music store behind their service or it will fail (or maybe Google should buy Amazon.com?).

While I do welcome an online locker to hold my current collection, maybe Google would do well to buy a smaller online music site like emusic to allow it to Google Music users to purchase new music and directly load their Google Music accounts.
